Records of the activities and administration of the History of Science Collections, including correspondence, budget and accounting information, and files on its projects and book and manuscript holdings, including the Boncompagni Archive and the cataloging of the Boyle Collection in 1988. Also, circulation records documenting the use of materials in the reading room, 1964-1992, and conservation survey results concerning the collection's flat paper materials. Office files include desiderata files, a card file for manuscripts (with no call numbers or location information), a separate card file for French manuscripts, a conservation card file, a card file on the Wells and Williams collections, a backlog file, a file concerning problem catalog cards, an "obsolete" file, a card file for the Boyle collection, and desiderata card files for the Hollister and Lavoisier collections.

The History of Science Collections were constituted as a separate department in Olin Library in 1961.
