Also, circulation records documenting the use of materials in the reading room, 1964-1992, and conservation survey results concerning the collection's flat paper materials. Office files include desiderata files, a card file for manuscripts (with no call numbers or location information), a separate card file for French manuscripts, a conservation card file, a card file on the Wells and Williams collections, a backlog file, a file concerning problem catalog cards, an "obsolete" file, a card file for the Boyle collection, and desiderata card files for the Hollister and Lavoisier collections.

The History of Science Collections were constituted as a separate department in Olin Library in 1961.
